Anthropologist | Consultant

Experience

Barbara has a lifetime of lived and professional experience working in the Indigenous sector as well as being a member of the Noongar community. Barbara's professional experience includes higher education and the ability to understand complex theory and practice of Noongar and other Aboriginal Australian cultures that she is able to adapt to walk beside existing frameworks and structures embedded within the Urban Design, Public Art and Development sector. 

Barbara's understanding of cultures is beneficial for service delivery in developing Cultural Context documents, Heritage Survey's, Cultural Heritage Management Plans as well as offer research and report writing.

Barbara works directly with Noongar and other Aboriginal Elders to provide  engagement and participation of Indigenous people in major developments.

Experience

Farley's lived and professional experience is embedded in Native Title and Aboriginal heritage throughout Western Australia. Farley is sought out by clients and Aboriginal people who seek guidance and understanding of the relationship, kinship, and connections to country that continue to be practiced in Aboriginal Australia today. 

Farley is a knowledge holder for Noongar culture and for 4 other Aboriginal groups in Western Australia. Farley works with anthropologists and archaeologists on a regular basis to assist in heritage, native title and cultural context for the Western Australian government. 

Farley's leadership as an Aboriginal Elder and cultural authority is recognised throughout Western Australia.

Archaeologist | Associate

Experience

Jane is a qualified archaeologist who has been working in partnership with Karrda since 2018. 

Jane's passion is the study of First Nations cultures through archaeology. Jane has been working with First Nations people and communities most of her professional career and continues to engage with and manage the Noongar Elder Groups that Karrda works with on project development and in Cultural Heritge management.

As well as this Jane undertakes research, writing, and mapping of our projects and shares her knowledge and experience with Karrda staff and associates. 

Designer | Executive Assistant

Experience

Kara is a qualified designer with experience in fashion and drafting which has brought her into the world of consultancy. Kara designed our logo and continues to use her designer skill sets to enhance the Karrda experience. 

Kara's professional and lived experience gives her the ability to understand the development sector and provides her with a wealth of knowledge that she is able to add value to the design, look, and enhancement of Karrda. 

As well as this Kara's attention to detail positions her to organize our staff and set manageable timeframes for our projects. 

Artist | Consultant

Experience

Michael has many years of experience working in the development sector as a consultant, artist and field technician, however, has recently changed direction and is now focusing his artistic skills on co-design as a practicing artist with Karrda. 

Michael's designs are a representation of his passion for culture, heritage and his people.

Human Resources

Experience

Renee works in Human Resources and is currently managing Karrda's employees. Renee is well versed in management and is developing ways to improve the operational policy and procedures for Karrda's staff. 

Renee also organises the schedules for Farley and Barb and is the first point of contact in arranging meetings for consultation with our clients.

Renee's management skills and understanding of staff serves her well in building strong relationships with all.
